One thing that sets Dan Murphy’s apart from our competitors is that all our staff are passionate about what they sell – a passion that comes from knowledge. Many of our staff have hands-on experience across a wide variety of areas in the liquor industry, while others have undertaken extensive study and research.
And now, Dan Murphy’s own Steve Creber has the opportunity to step away from his desk and get down and dirty in the vineyard.
A key member of the Dan Murphy’s Wine Panel, Steve’s experience is both extensive and impressive. After studying Wine Science at Riverina College he worked in winemaking and viticulture in the Yarra Valley, Sunraysia, Eden Valley and Coonawarra regions. Since joining Dan Murphy’s in 1983, Steve has become highly respected for his knowledge, enthusiasm and expertise.
This month, Steve’s experience is set to become even greater, with Helen’s Hill winemaker Scott McCarthy inviting Steve to work through the production of an entire vintage, from testing the grapes before picking, all the way through to the finished product being stored for maturation.
Read on for Steve’s unique, first-hand account of making a quality wine through every stage. Steve’s latest post can be found here.
